Stage 3 -

Beinn Eighe to Skye

Skye involved a lovely couple of days of cycling with lots of sunshine and peaceful swim spots. Busy roads, fast cars and lack of bike lanes were pretty evident on this stretch. After cycling from Beinn Eighe across to Skye, we set up camp for the next few days to enjoy some rest days and gather our thoughts from the first half of our journey. We spent days off scallop diving and running in the Cullins (training for Ailsa's ultra marathon in Fort William the following week).

Additionally, we were welcomed in by some of the inspiring members of the Uigshader Living Forest Project, and shown around their current projects involving the building of a barn from local Sitka spruce, fencing off the land to help with deer management and tree growth, and the various seedlings being grown in the tree nursery. This was the second community-owned land we had the pleasure of visiting.
